End of Season Wrap-Up

Shark Families-

It is hard to believe it is almost August and another swim season has come and gone. We had swimmers who could barely make it across the pool, swimmers who were eyeing new records and all sorts of swimmers in between.  It is a true joy for me to get to work with all these swimmers and get to see the different growth and success each one has.  I hope every swimmer realizes how much they have improved and will have some great memories from this summer.

It was a fantastic season and a true team effort from all the swimmers, parents, board members and coaches.  There was an extra lift this year in hosting City Meet, and the Sharks did an amazing job.  We are still receiving kudos for hosting an organized, fun and welcoming meet for all the teams in our league.  Thank you so much everyone!  We can't have a season without the hard work of all our volunteers.

Finally, I want to thank our amazing coaching staff.  These coaches are skilled, patient and willing to put lots of energey into each swimmer on the team.  They helped make our team that much better and I am truly grateful to have been able to work along side of them.

Head Coach

From Coach Tasha-

Thank you to all the parents, volunteers and swimmers for making this a great season.  It has been a true pleasure to work with your families this season!

From Coach Katie-

I would like to thank everyone for making my final year as a swimmer for SCCA amazing, but also the honor of teaching all the kids really made my summer.  I also appreciate all the cards - it meant the world to me.  Thank you!

From Coach Quinn-

This has been the best season for so many reasons.  Thank you all for trusting and supporting me as a junior coach and cheering me on as a swimmer.  I have loved watching the growth in every kid, not only in swimming but also in the friendships we all build together!  Thank you for an amazing season.  Go Sharks!  See you next year.

Thank you to Board Members

Our Board Members do so much to make the SCCA Sharks happen each summer.  A big thank you to Troy Gerhardt, Katie Fitzpatrick, Tasha Marchant, Kerri Johnson and Felicia Klitch!  Kerri and Felicia will be stepping down after several years of with the Sharks.  They will be missed!

Swim Team Options for the School Year

Many families often ask what their swimmer can do over the school year to continue swimming.  Here are a few different options...

  • FAST - A long standing large club with excellent reputation.  Coach Tasha is a coach there and several of our families swim there during the school year.
  • Vortex - A smaller club with a varied practice schedule.  Some of our swimmers participate in Vortex and love it. Attached is a flyer for a clinic they are running soon.
  • Genesis Miramont - A practice only swim team that takes place at South Miramont of the Central location.  Practices are 2 times per week, reasonably-priced and allow for swimmers to maintain/improve their skills
  • Private lessons/coaching - Reach out to Coach Rob if you are interested in scheduling some private sessions for stroke work, technique and one-on-one coaching for all abilities.  [email protected]

Important Dates for Next Year

  • April 1:  Registration for returning Shark Families Opens
  • April 10:  Registration opens to new families
  • July 17-18:  City Meet at Westfield
  • July 24-26:  State Meet

Thanks again!  Have a great rest of your summer!
