Shark Families-

We hope you had a great Fourth of July and long weekend.  There is a lot of important information in this update, so please read carefully.  

Coach Rob will be out of town starting mid week and will be gone until the start of the following week.  Coach Tasha, Coach Katie, Coach Quinn will be running practices and Board Members will be available if needed.

Entries for 7/12 meet at Village Green DUE Wednesday, 7/9  at NOON

• This is an away meet and we will not be able to add swimmers who miss the entry deadline.
• This is a large meet and the Medley relay has been removed for timeline concerns.  The Freestyle relay has been moved to the start of the meet.  Swimmers can sign up for 3 events, however, coaches may remove swimmers from a third event if it is a longer race that the swimmer may not complete legally or has NT for.
• Rob will be gone for this meet and Coach Tasha will be leading the Sharks!

Entries for City Meet DUE Friday, 7/11 at 5:00 PM

• Entries are due Friday at noon and coaches will review entries and possibly suggest event changes for certain swimmers.
• Relays will be determined by coaches.  For City Meet, coaches look more closely at creating relays that can be swum legally and helping the overall team effort.
• The Schedule for the meet is as follows:
  • Friday, 7/18 at 8:00 AM - 11 & Over Events
  • Friday, 7/18 at 5:00 PM - Distance Events (100 for 8 & U, 200 & 400 Free)
  • Saturday, 7/19 at 8:00 AM - 10 & Under Events
• Swimmers are allowed up to 3 individual events and 2 relays (Just like all other meets)

City Meet Entry Fees

• There is a fee for swimmers entering City Meet.  The fees are as follows:
  • $5 per swimmer flat fee
  • $7 per individual event. 
    • (A swimmer in 3 events would owe $26 -> $5 + $7 x 3 events)
  • Payments can be made by check (SCCA Sharks Swim Team) and dropped off at the pool during practice or at the guard shack during pool hours.  Please add City Meet fees and name of swimmer(s) in memo
  • Payments may also be made via Venmo.  Please add City Meet Fees and name of swimmer(s) in comments
  • The Sharks cover the cost of relays at $14 per relay
• We ask that fees are paid by July 15.

Volunteering at City Meet

• There are still jobs available to be filled for City Meet on Friday or Saturday.  Although some of the jobs are different than normal, many of them are critical to help us host the meet.  Each job has a description and if you are still unsure, reach out to a board member or coach who can answer your questions.
• We know that running a swim meet is a big effort and we appreciate your support in running a great meet for the whole league at our home pool.  This counts as our fundraiser for the year and helps fund feature needs for the team.  Thank you for help!
